Town of Parker Hires Business Development Liaison to Support Local Business Development
Parker Economic Development in Parker, Colorado, has hired a Business Development Liaison to advance and implement programs to support economic vitality for the Town of Parker and to help serve the Parker Authority of Reinvestment (P3). The position reflects the Town’s commitment to meeting and supporting local business needs. One of the main roles of the new Business Development Liaison will be to assist businesses in the process of working with the Town, helping walk business owners through the planning and review process and coordinating with Town staff to improve efficiencies and remove barriers to development.
The Business Development Liaison will also focus on business retention and expansion projects by connecting established Parker businesses with financial assistance and resources to support their growth. In addition, the position will manage special projects and ensure policy and procedures are consistent with State requirements while researching best practices and new programs the Town can integrate to improve economic vitality.
Kim Heckber has been appointed to the new position. Kim previously served the town as the Redevelopment Coordinator for P3 and has worked with the Town of Parker for six years. Prior to joining the Town, she was a Planner for Loudoun County, Virginia, one of the fastest-growing counties in the country.
Parker Economic Development Director Weldy Feazell comments on the new position, “We are excited to have a staff member whose focus is supporting our local business community and to serve as an advocate for local businesses when working through Town processes to ensure projects can be completed efficiently and with less confusion. Kim is the perfect person to serve in this role with her previous experience in planning and as someone dedicated to improving Parker.”
